George Beverly Shea was a Canadian-born American gospel signer and hymn composer most associated with the Billy Graham Crusades. He composed the tune to "I'd Rather Have Jesus," written by Rhea F. Miller, wife of Howard Miller, general superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene. He was married to Erma until her death in 1976 and raised two children, Ronnie and Elaine, with her. He married Karlene in 1985.
